OK Rochester

A bit is happening in Rochy this October. For just one day the town of Rochester will transform into a magical place where showing off your country line dancing moves is a flex and the town hall’s sole purpose will be to celebrate friendship. Oh, and a lineup of incredible artists will be there to perform your favourite songs too.

OK Rochester blends performances from the best alternative music artists with pop up events that mean you’ll have a good time in a great town. Come for the day, glamp by the river or take the sleeper shuttle train from Southern Cross. Either way, a good time is guaranteed.

Riverboats Music Festival

Held on Yorta Yorta Country at a natural amphitheatre beside the Murray River, the Riverboats Music Festival blends live folk, rock and indie music with the stunning riverside setting. This unique Echuca music festival has an open-air stage that makes the most of the picturesque backdrop and river where you can watch historic paddlesteamers glide by.

The lineup changes each year, featuring a mix of big names and emerging artists. The 2026 lineup announcement is expected in October, with paddlesteamer sideshows—where select artists perform aboard historic vessels—predicted to be a highlight once again.

Ready to push your limits or just cheer on the action? The Murray’s river races have something for everyone.

Sweat Vs Steam

For years we’ve debated, man or machine. This race is the decider! Sweat vs Steam is an iconic race where participants try and beat the PS Pevensey to the finish line.

With 5-kilometre, 10-kilometre and kids races available, the inclusive event is staged so even social runners can enjoy challenging themselves against the prowess of the mighty paddle steamer. But, if you’re not a runner, you can still cheer the competitors on, with the course making its way through the historic port of Echuca.

Massive Murray Paddle

At 415 kilometres, this event is as massive as it sounds. Held over 5 days, this iconic paddle race down the Murray is well worth a watch. Starting at Yarrawonga and finishing in Koondrook, you can watch as participants enter the water in all assortments of boats. See them land at Moama Beach on Wednesday 19 November between 2.30pm and 5pm or launch the next day between 9am and 11am.

With options for serious racers, recreational paddlers, individuals and teams, the Massive Murray Paddle is a lot of fun for those keen to get onto the water. So, dust off your dragon boat, canoe or ‘homemade’ boat and get ready to paddle.
