Overview

Description

Reconnect with nature as you take a leisurely stroll through the 21st century designed Moama Echuca Botanic Gardens.

Learn about unique arid and semi arid Australian landscapes with Indigenous plantings. Explore the formal entrance garden, settlers' garden and dry billabong.

Take a break and enjoy the tranquillity, seated under the vine covered arbour or picnic on the lawns under shady iron bark trees.

Located within the Moama Recreation Reserve and adjacent to the Adventure Playpark, the site has undercover barbecue facilities and toilets nearby.

An ongoing project designed by Landscape Architect Mr Chris Dance, the Gardens feature indigenous plantings and are contemporary, unique, water wise and Riverina themed.

Several stages have been completed thus far:

  • the formal entrance garden with a  boardwalk and lake
  • the Settlers Garden and Dry Billabong
  • a 3.5 metre lookout to complete the western aspect of the gardens
  • La Belle Helene 2 statue, by sculptor David Maughan, adding significant interest and value to the Gardens
